Participating TikTok creators will gain access to approved assets from hundreds of Disney films and series, while selected videos will appear on Disney+ through its vertical-video feed, Verts.

The Walt Disney Company and TikTok have announced a global short-form content-sharing partnership that will allow participating creators to produce videos using characters, scenes and stories from Disney’s extensive entertainment portfolio.

The agreement covers properties from Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, FX and other Disney brands. TikTok will provide eligible creators with access to approved assets connected to hundreds of Disney films and television series, giving them an official route to create fan-led content around some of the world’s biggest entertainment franchises.

The programme will begin with a pilot in the United States in the coming months, with plans to expand into additional markets. Financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed. Disney described the collaboration as a first-of-its-kind global content-sharing deal.

Creator Videos Will Appear on Disney+

Short-form videos created by participating TikTok creators who opt into the programme will be available on TikTok and within Verts, Disney+’s mobile-first vertical-video feed.

Disney introduced Verts to Disney+ subscribers in the United States earlier in 2026. The feed allows viewers to swipe through vertical clips featuring scenes and moments from Disney films and shows. Users can then add a title to their watchlist or begin watching it directly on the streaming platform.

Under the TikTok partnership, Verts will expand beyond promotional clips and scenes from Disney’s catalogue to include selected fan-created videos. The curated collection will be refreshed regularly to reflect current conversations and trends across Disney’s different fan communities.

According to Reuters, this will be the first time TikTok videos are officially distributed through another platform.

Disney and TikTok Launch Creator Ambassador Programme

The two companies will also jointly operate a Disney Creator Ambassador Program designed to support selected creators working with Disney properties.

The tiered programme will offer participating creators increased visibility, access to exclusive events, special rewards and potential career development opportunities. The initiative is intended to help Disney build relationships with emerging creative talent while giving TikTok creators greater exposure beyond the social media platform.

Asad Ayaz, Chief Marketing and Brand Officer at The Walt Disney Company, said the collaboration would create a connection between Disney’s stories and the creativity they inspire among fans.

Dawn Yang, Global Head of Entertainment at TikTok, added that creator-led content can extend the life of films and television programmes by turning them into conversations that audiences continue to discover and share.

Short-Form Video Becomes a Discovery Channel for Entertainment

The partnership reflects the growing role of creators and short-form video in entertainment discovery.

According to TikTok’s internal data, users shared an average of 6.5 million film and television-related posts on the platform every day in 2025. In a TikTok-commissioned survey conducted by Ipsos, nearly half of respondents said they watched a film or television programme after discovering related content on TikTok.

Streaming services are increasingly responding to this behaviour by incorporating shorter, mobile-friendly formats into their platforms. Peacock and Paramount+ have experimented with vertical series, while Netflix offers short clips that help users discover programmes.

For Disney, the TikTok partnership could help increase engagement within Disney+ and introduce its films and shows to audiences through creator-led recommendations, edits, commentary and fan storytelling.

For creators, the agreement represents a significant shift in how major entertainment companies approach fan content. Instead of treating creator-made videos only as promotional activity taking place outside their platforms, Disney is bringing selected creator content directly into its streaming ecosystem.

The partnership gives participating creators official access to Disney intellectual property, a larger distribution opportunity and the possibility of reaching audiences across both TikTok and Disney+. It also signals that creator-made content is becoming a more formal part of how entertainment companies build fandom, drive discovery and keep audiences engaged with their franchises.
