Global YouTube creator MrBeast joined Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and the team behind the upcoming film Ramayana at a special promotional event in Mumbai, creating an unexpected crossover between the global creator economy and Indian cinema.
YouTube star MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, made a high-profile appearance at a special Ramayana event in Mumbai on September 26, joining actors Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Ravie Dubey, along with director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra.
The appearance quickly attracted attention online, with videos and photographs of MrBeast interacting with the film’s cast circulating across social media.
MrBeast and Ranbir Kapoor’s interaction goes viral
One of the most widely shared moments from the event featured MrBeast alongside Ranbir Kapoor. During the interaction, Ranbir prompted the YouTube creator to say “Jai Shri Ram,” which MrBeast repeated as the audience cheered. Reports also said Ranbir spoke to MrBeast about the story and significance of Lord Ram during the event.
MrBeast was also photographed with Sai Pallavi and Ravie Dubey, bringing together one of the world’s biggest digital creators with the lead cast of one of India’s biggest upcoming film productions.
The event was also attended by director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra, with the Ramayana team showcasing the project ahead of its theatrical release.
A creator crossover with global reach
MrBeast’s presence is particularly notable because of the scale of his global digital audience. His participation gives the Ramayana promotional campaign visibility beyond conventional Bollywood and entertainment audiences, connecting the film with the global online creator ecosystem.
Moneycontrol had reported ahead of the event that MrBeast would participate in the September 26 showcase as the film expanded its global promotional outreach.
The appearance also demonstrates how major entertainment launches are increasingly intersecting with creator-led media. Instead of creators being limited to conventional influencer promotions, globally recognised digital personalities can become part of major film events and cultural moments themselves.
About Ramayana
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita, with Yash as Ravana, Ravie Dubey as Lakshmana and Sunny Deol as Hanuman. The project is being produced by Namit Malhotra and is planned as a two-part theatrical saga.
The makers have also outlined ambitions to take the adaptation to international audiences, including localisation for markets outside India.
For the creator industry, however, one of the most interesting developments from the Mumbai event was the presence of MrBeast himself. His appearance alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi represents a striking meeting of two enormous entertainment ecosystems, global digital creators and mainstream Indian cinema.
