A song that began as a performance on Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent has become one of the year’s biggest viral music moments, with “Chai Ki Tapri” reportedly crossing 500 million cumulative streams and views.

The catchy track was performed on the show by Balram Vishwakarma, popularly known as Rocking Goli, alongside young rapper AJ. But its biggest reveal came after it went viral: the song was created using Soundverse AI, rather than being produced through a conventional studio recording process.

According to reports, Nagpur-based creator Utkarsh, known as UG Beats, created the track on Soundverse’s AI-powered platform. The lyrics were also generated using the platform’s AI model. The result was a high-energy, local-flavoured song built around the familiar idea of a neighbourhood chai stall.

After appearing on India’s Got Latent, “Chai Ki Tapri” quickly travelled beyond the episode. It became a popular sound for dance videos, meme edits and short-form content, reportedly appearing in more than one million Instagram Reels. Clips featuring the song, including moments from the show, helped push it across social media feeds at speed.

The viral response has also brought new visibility to Rocking Goli, who has joined DJ Chetas’ Chandni Bar Tour 2.0, a 14-city tour.

For the creator economy, the song is a striking example of how AI music tools are becoming part of the mainstream content pipeline. A creator can now use AI to shape lyrics, vocals and production, while creators, shows and audiences can turn that output into a cultural moment.

“Chai Ki Tapri” is not simply a story about a viral song. It shows how the next breakout track may come from a creator’s prompt, a social platform’s distribution and an audience ready to make it their own.
