The consumer technology brand’s latest India campaign brings together voices from music and cinema that built their identities by challenging established conventions.

Consumer technology brand Nothing has launched a new campaign in India featuring hip-hop duo Seedhe Maut alongside actors Zeenat Aman and Siddhant Chaturvedi.

Titled “Start With Nothing,” the campaign celebrates people who entered established industries but chose to follow their own creative paths. Through the three personalities, Nothing draws parallels between their journeys and its positioning as a design-led technology company that aims to challenge conventional product design.

Three Generations of Cultural Voices

The campaign brings together artists from different generations and creative disciplines.

Zeenat Aman represents a career that challenged traditional portrayals of women in Hindi cinema. Siddhant Chaturvedi’s story focuses on the determination required to establish himself in the film industry, while Seedhe Maut reflects the growth of independent Indian hip-hop from an underground movement into a wider cultural force.

The Delhi-based duo, comprising Calm and Encore ABJ, has built a strong following through its distinctive sound, independent identity and connection with younger audiences.

By placing Seedhe Maut alongside established film personalities, Nothing is positioning independent musicians as cultural voices capable of leading mainstream brand campaigns.

Campaign Film Explores What Technology Cannot Reproduce

The campaign film uses a retro-futuristic setting in which advanced technology attempts to understand and recreate the qualities that made the three featured personalities stand out.

It revisits moments from their respective journeys through old film posters, audition footage and early music videos. While the fictional technology can analyse their choices and reproduce elements of their work, it is unable to manufacture the instinct, conviction and originality behind their success.

This idea supports the campaign’s central message that technology can help people express themselves, but individuality cannot be generated or replicated.

Nothing products, including the Phone (4a), Phone (4a) Pro, Phone (4b), Ear (Open) and Headphone (1), are incorporated throughout the film. ET Brand Equity reported that the campaign is currently running across Nothing’s digital and social platforms.

Nothing Connects Its Brand Story With Creative Independence

Akis Evangelidis, Co-founder and India President at Nothing, said the campaign reflects the values behind the company’s own journey.

According to Evangelidis, Nothing was built on the belief that consumer technology had become predictable and that there was room for products that felt more expressive, human and design-focused. The company sees a similar willingness to question established rules in the careers of Aman, Chaturvedi and Seedhe Maut.

The campaign aims to encourage younger audiences to embrace individuality and develop their own identities instead of trying to fit established expectations.

More Creators Will Join the Campaign

“Start With Nothing” is expected to expand beyond its initial film.

Vishal Jethwa, Trinetra Haldar, Ikisvon Jamang, Santanu Hazarika, Subiksha Shivakumar, BOH!B and Aksomaniac are among the additional creative personalities expected to participate in the broader campaign.

The film was conceptualised and directed by Kshitij Kankaria and produced by Imran Kathri of IKP, according to MediaNews4U.

For the creator economy, the campaign demonstrates how technology brands are increasingly working with independent artists for more than conventional product endorsements. Rather than presenting Seedhe Maut only as celebrity faces, Nothing has made the duo’s creative journey and cultural identity part of the brand’s larger story.

The collaboration also reflects the growing influence of independent Indian musicians, whose communities and cultural relevance are attracting mainstream brands seeking stronger connections with younger audiences.
